Why the free version shows ads, and how to remove them with the ad-free year pass.
Why ads at all?
Evensum can be used for free with its full feature set — accounts, recurring costs, splitting, ledger, vehicle costs, and statistics are all available without restriction. To keep this sustainable long-term, the free version is funded by unobtrusive advertising (via Google AdSense).
The ads are placed so they never get in the way of what you're actually doing — recording expenses, checking the reserve recommendation, or reviewing statistics.
What do you get in the free version?

There are no hidden feature restrictions in the free version — the core functionality is the same for everyone.
Premium: ad-free with the year pass
If you prefer the app without ads, subscribe to the year pass. It costs a fixed amount per year, renews automatically for another year, and can be canceled anytime effective at the end of the term — no notice-period puzzles, nothing to lose. Evensum doesn't aim to be an expensive finance tool, but an everyday app for couples and households.
With the year pass, ads disappear completely from the entire interface. Everything else stays identical to the free version, which already includes all features.
Subscribe, manage & cancel
You subscribe in the app under More → Premium & ads. Payment is handled securely by Stripe (card and more). The app is ad-free immediately after payment — the current term's end date is always visible on the same page.
That page also has a "Manage & cancel year pass" button: it opens the Stripe customer portal where you can change your payment method or cancel with one click, effective at the end of the term. Alternatively, the "Cancel contracts here" page is available without any login (linked in the footer of the sign-in page and the website). After canceling, the app stays ad-free until the term ends; then ads return — your data and settings are untouched.
Who is the year pass for?
The year pass is entirely optional and a matter of personal comfort. If the ads don't bother you, Evensum remains fully usable for free. If you prefer an ad-free interface, it costs about as much as a few coffees per year — and cancellation at the end of the term keeps you in full control.
Premium FAQs
Does the year pass change any calculations (reserves, splitting)? No. All calculations — reserve recommendation, settlements, statistics — work identically in the free and ad-free versions.
Is the year pass per person or per household? It is tied to your user account, not the household. If you share a household, each person decides individually.
What happens when I cancel? You can cancel anytime via "Manage & cancel year pass", effective at the end of the current term. The app stays ad-free until then; afterwards ads return. All your data and settings remain untouched.
