Importing values from CSV

Import several months at once – from your own spreadsheet or directly from Home Assistant.

1. Choose meter

The import takes over the monthly values. If the meter is recorded with meter readings, a Home Assistant export also takes over the month-end reading.

2. File or text

Data from Home Assistant? Here's how to get the CSV file
  1. In Home Assistant, open History in the sidebar.
  2. Use “Choose entity” to add the energy sensors that are also set up in the Energy dashboard: grid consumption, return to grid, solar production or gas meter (m³). You'll find them under Settings → Dashboards → Energy.
  3. Pick the time range at the top, e.g. the last 12 months.
  4. Tap “Download data” in the top right – Home Assistant saves a CSV file.
  5. Select that file here via “Upload CSV file”. The format is detected automatically; then assign each sensor to a field.

Important: use the meter sensors in kWh or m³ (the value keeps increasing), not the power sensors in W. For Energy dashboard sensors the export usually goes back many months thanks to long-term statistics; other sensors are only kept for 10 days by default.

Detailed guide in the help

Stays in your browser only – the file itself is never uploaded, just the monthly values computed from it.
